Glasgow City and Whisky Tour

Join us on this 6.5 hour tour where you will enjoy much of the friendly city of Glasgow. The tour is inclusive of guided transport, admission fees, snacks, water and a complimentary dram of whisky.

  • Visit Kelvingrove Museum, architecturally stunning with a wealth of information on Glasgow, Scotland and the World. There are paintings from some of the greats such as Salvidor Dali, Rembrandt and Monet. It is a stop not to be missed

Tour Itinerary

  • 10.00am - Pick Up from Greenock Port.
  • 10.45am - Arrive at Kelvingrove Museum and Art Gallery (stay here for 1 hour)
  • 12.00pm - Arrive at the Cathedral and oldest house (stay here for 45 minutes)
  • 1 pm - Arrive at Buchanan Street in Glasgow for some free time to enjoy the shops and / or have a bite to eat. The street has many beautiful buildings for photo opportunities.  (stay here for 1.15 hours). 
  • 2.45pm - Arrive at the Auchentoshan Whisky Distillery where you will enjoy a tour with a dram of whisky at then end.
  • 4.30 pm - Arrive back at the ship.

 

Loch Lomond and Inveraray Tour

Itinerary

  • 9am - Pick Up Greenock Port to be in Inveraray for 10:30am learning about the history of the area.
  • 10.30am - Arrive in Inveraray and visit the Inveraray Jail  (1 hour.)
  • 11.30am - Visit a local bar for light lunch / refreshment. (45 minutes)
  • 12.15pm - Visit some of the Inveraray shops for souvenirs and some private time. (20 minutes)
  • 12.40pm - Visit Inveraray Castle and Gardens (1 hour and 30 minutes)
  • 2.10pm - Make way to the falls of Falloch for aprox arrival 3pm. (10 minutes)
  • 3.20pm - Have pint / dinner at the Drovers Inn. (1 hour)
  • 4.40pm - Arrive at the Inveruglas stop for pictures of the Loch (10 minutes)
  • 4.50pm - Leave for return to Greenock Port
  • 6pm - Arrive in Greenock

Stirling Tour including Castle and Wallace Monument

Greenock Town Heritage Walking Tour

  • A bilingual service is operated; French and English. We also have a reasonable fluency in German.

Greenock has a very rich past thanks to the industrial revolution but there is also a great Robert Burns history in the town and Highlanders history too. Learn about the towns great significance that was once encapsulated by the English poet William Wordsworth in his poem Greenock.

  • Step back in time and learn about Greenock's maritime past through its architecture and historic buildings along the Greenock Heritage Town Trail. Does not included the full trail.
  • Includes: McLean Museum (not Sundays), Dutch Gable House, Fire Station Museum (not Sundays) and the Custom House.
  • Please note the walk is classed as moderate and is around 2 hrs long and therefore a reasonable level of fitness is required. This tour is also weather dependent and appropriate clothing and footwear is advisable. Contact us for more information.

Greenock Town Heritage Walking Tour

The Greenock Cut is ranked in the top 50 walks in Scotland and has some of the most spectacular views in the country. What makes this walk that extra bit special is that the Greenock Cut is a registered Ancient Monument, designed by Robert Thom and constructed in the 1820s to supply water to the area’s industries; shipyards, sugar refineries and mills. An initially unplanned by-product of the design was that it also filtered clean drinking water to the residents of Greenock.

Advanced Booking required for tour to operate and a maximum spaces of 20 persons per tour:

  • See a birds eye view of the West Coast of Scotland, Arguably one of the best views in the whole country.
  • Walk alongside the Cut, a Scheduled Ancient Monument that was designed and built by Robert Thom that fed Greenock’s industry and provided clean filtered water to the residents of the town until 1971.
  • Tour ends at the Cut Visitor Centre where you can visit the Cut Museum and enjoy refreshments at the shop or cafe. Toilets also situated here.

Included: bottle of water, travel to and from designated meeting point in Greenock town. Contact us for more information or confirmed upon booking.

Please note the walk is classed as moderate to difficult and is around 2.5hrs - 3 hrs long; and therefore a reasonable level of fitness is required. This tour is also weather dependant and appropriate clothing is advisable. Contact us for more information.

We cannot accept responsibility for conditions which are outside our control, e.g. the weather, the closure of visitor attractions etc. We reserve the right to alter or cancel our tour itineraries where necessary due to weather conditions, road closures, etc.

Exclusions:

We not not include meals or entrance however we can assist in a cost effective solution for your entrance for your whole trip. If you are visiting more than one port, please let us know as you may qualify for an Explorer Pass or Scottish Heritage Pass which will save you a lot of money on admission during your stay.

  • Currency in Scotland: British Pound (£)
  • Weather: We have quite a wet and mild climate so it is always advisable to bring a rain jacket or umbrella. Suitable footwear is also advisable, nobody wants wet socks :-)
  • Temperature: Average summer temperature is 19°C / 66.2 F
  • Gratutities: It is not complusary to tip in Scotland, however if you feel that the service was deserving, the going rate is 10%. This is not set in stone either but it can assist you in what you wish to contribute.
