Join us on this 6 hour tour where you will enjoy much of the picturesque Midlothian region near Edinburgh. The tour is inclusive of guided transport, admission fees, lunch, snacks, water and a complimentary dram of whisky.

  • Discover Rosslyn Chapel believed to be the location where the Holy Grail is buried which inspired the book and subsequent movie The Davinci Code
  • Enjoy the ruins of Rosslyn Castle, once inhabited by the Sinclair family. It is a red stone ruin that has spectacular views of the surrounding area.
  • Wet your appetite at a Scottish Medieval Castle, once home to the Ramsay Clan. The grounds are absolutely beautiful.
  • Enjoy a real taste of Scotland on a tour of Glenkinchie Whisky Distillery, fondly dubbed the Edinburgh Malt. 


Tour Itinerary

  • 10.30am - Pick Up in Edinburgh Port.
  • 11.00am - Arrive at Rosslyn Chapel and Castle (stay here for 1 hour)
  • 12.15pm - Arrive at Dalhousie Castle, a Clan Ramsay Castle where you will have lunch. The grounds are spectacular and there should be an opportunity to take a stroll. Please note the castle may be booked for weddings, in which case an alternative and just as interesting place will be available for lunch.
  • 2 pm - Arrive at the Glenkinchie Whisky Distillery (stay here for 1.15 hour). Included in the tour is exhibition/model distillery, tour of distillery & complimentary tasting of Glenkinchie single malt. Please note Children under 8 are not permitted to take part in the production tour. 
  • 4.30 pm - Arrive back at the ship.

Visit the Scottish Capital City and its famous sites such as Edinburgh Castle, The Royal Yacht Britannia and The infamous Mary Kings Close in the bowels of the city. Included in this price are all entrance tickets and lunch on the Royal Yacht Britannia (Britannia Special).

*Elements of this tour are unsuitable for children under 5 such as Mary Kings Close. If you have children of this age, we can arrange alternative itineraries for your group such as a visit to Camera Obscura etc instead.*

Itinerary

  • 8.30 - Pick Up from Edinburgh Port.
  • 9am - We start at the bottom of the Royal Mile.
  • 10am - Tour of Mary Kings Close (1 hour)
  • 11:30 - Edinburgh Castle (1 hour and ½)
  • 13:45 - Make way to Royal Yacht Britannia
  • 14:15 - Arrive at Royal Yacht Britannia and have lunch and tour. (2 hours and 30 minutes)
  • 16:45 - Return for cruise ship.

St Andrews Tour

St Andrews is a name that pricks up ears across the world, thanks to it being the birthplace of Golf and the local university where William met Kate. There are many more attractions in the area such as the castle, the cathedral, botanical gardens and so much more. 

Join us on our small group tour (15 people maximum) as we visit St Andrews on day trips from South Queensferry Port and include delights that should whet any golfer’s appetite and we mean quite literally with our stop over at the Jigger Inn, a golfer’s dream bar.

Price: £57.50 per person (includes all entrance fees, bottled water, snacks and a complimentary bottle of whisky on the bus. Please not does not include meals and alcoholic beveridges)

Duration: 6.5 hours

Itinerary:

  • 9.30 Pick up at South Queensferry (Edinburgh) Port.
  • 11.00 Arrive at St Andrews Castle (stay here for 1 hour)
  • 12.00 Make way for Cathedral (stay here for 45 mins)
  • 12.45 Make way for the Jigger Inn
  • 12.50 Arrive at the Jigger Inn (at the Old Course hotel) Stay here for 1 hour, you can choose to have something to eat or enjoy the atmosphere over a dram or their very own ale.
  • 13.50 Make way for Golf Museum enthused after seeing all the memorabilia at the Jigger Inn
  • 14.00 Visit the Golf museum. Stay here for 1 hour.
  • 15.00 Leave St Andrews making way back for the ship
  • 16.00 Arrive back at Ship in plenty of time.

On our trip through St Andrews, you will get a good glimpse of where the prince met his princess Kate.

We not not include meals or entrance however we can assist in a cost effective solution for your entrance for your whole trip. If you are visiting more than one port, please let us know as you may qualify for an Explorer Pass or Scottish Heritage Pass which will save you a lot of money on admission during your stay.

  • Currency in Scotland: British Pound (£)
  • Weather: We have quite a wet and mild climate so it is always advisable to bring a rain jacket or umbrella. Suitable footwear is also advisable, nobody wants wet socks :-)
  • Temperature: Average summer temperature is 19°C / 66.2 F
  • Gratutities: It is not complusary to tip in Scotland, however if you feel that the service was deserving, the going rate is 10%. This is not set in stone either but it can assist you in what you wish to contribute.
