A big thank you to 2015!!

The 2015 cruise season in Scotland is coming to an end and this has been a fantastic year at Clyde Coast Tours. We have enjoyed showing all our guests around our beautiful country. The stories and the laughter is why we do this job and look forward to continuing this for many seasons to come.

The highlights of the year have included private tours to the Military Tattoo in Edinburgh, day trips to Stirling Castle and the the Trossachs from Greenock Port as well as our favourite Rosslyn Chapel and Whisky Tour from the Edinburgh ports. All are made very special with a toast of single malt whisky which is almost a compulsory part of the day :-)

As a fairly young company, we have learned immensely from this year too and hope that we are constantly improving our levels of service so that you will have an awesome time in Scotland. As such we have changed some elements of how we operate:

  • We now have 2 extra guides on board, James and Marco and we will no longer be outsourcing guides and private tours. We want to be completely responsible for your time in Scotland. We also have the lovely Ashleen who will be on the other end of the phone in reception :-)
  • Like with the point above, some of the locations have not offered a level of service we feel is up to the standards of our tours and quite frankly, your hard earned cash. Including entrance as standard can also be problematic and very wasteful. So instead, we will now be able to assist you with this separately to ensure you are not spending more than you should.
  • We will no longer be visiting the Inveraray Castle, it is expensive with large crowds on cruise days and the attitude of some of their staff make this less enjoyable than it should be. We are now visiting Stirling Castle and Loch Lomond as a replacement.

Self Drive

Would you like to explore on your own? Car Hire can be a problem from the ports as it can waste time catching a train to get your car when you are already time poor. We can organise a great self drive itinerary which caters to your ship’s time table and what you can and cannot see. We will shuttle you to the car hire depot and will be on the other end of the telephone should you need assistance during your trip. We include Greenock Port and Edinburgh Ports for this service. Please email us if you are interested in this option.

Working with Invergordon Tours

We have teamed up with Gavin at Invergordon Tours so that you now have the ability to have one source organise your whole trip to Scotland. This can be for both private tours and bus tours and you can mix and match to suit your needs and budget. With our private tours you can now save 15% if you book 2 or more private tours.

Included Ports for this option:

  • Greenock
  • Edinburgh
  • Invergordon
  • Skye
  • Oban

With all this in the pipeline, we are looking forward to a bumper year in 2016 and look forward to welcoming our new guests.

Finally, I would like to thank everyone who visited Scotland with us this year, myself and all the other guides: Helmut, Iain and Marco have enjoyed your company greatly and haste ye back to Scotland soon.
